Camera Sony HD

The Sony cameras are ideal for this project as the DSLR cameras are specialised for taking pictures, on the other hand the Sony Cameras are made for filming in High Definition and will be needed for all the scenes not only the opening scene.

Lighting

Lighting will be needed because the natural lighting won't be within the nail bar, at a bright enough aperture.

Boom Mic

A Boom Mic will be needed to direct where the sound will be going and what sounds will be picked up if there is any background noise that is unwanted.

Props

Props will be needed for all the scenes, such as the kitchen scene will need a kettle.

Tripod

This will be useful for establishing shots to establish the scene and where it will be. This will also be good to help steady the camera.0

LO1 - Soap Opera Analysis

The camera slowly zooms in on the main character of the scene in order to show the emotion on the characters face and to build the suspense building up to when she gets attacked and also to etablih a sense of fear as the character is being threatened. And after the attacker has been killed the camera pans up and left from a close up to a mid-shot to focus on who kiled him. Also in the scene it deliberatley hides the characacter who kills the attacker from the shot until right at the end of the scene in order to make the audience question who killed him.

The way the camera is positioned to see each character is to be able to see their reactions to what the other is saying so as to help the build up to the fight and for the most part it is in mid-shot, this was done to show the characters hand gestures as well as their facial expressions in order to further show their emotions. At the end of the clip it zooms in on the characters faces to show the Emotion in each of the characters faces.
In ths scene it focuses heavily on characters facial expressions so as to show how scared the character is and how they acted on instinct when they mistakenly stabbed the other character. A two shot is used to show what's actually happening in comparison to what the character with the knife thinks is happening. When the stabbing occurs a close up is used on each character to try and tell the audience what each character is thinking and feeling.
In this clip the person being interviewed is seen from a mid-shot and later on a close up. These shots have been used for this character as they are being interviewed by the police for murder so they want to show that the character is scared that they will be put in prison for murder. The close up is also used to show the reaction of the character when the knife is put on the table. A two shot is used between the interviewer and the charcter being interviewed in order to show how they react to what the other has just said. A close up is also used to show the interviewer right at the end so as to add extra emphasis on what she has just said.
Since this scene is showing an argument in public it uses close ups on 'spectators' in order to show their reaction to the argument and what they think of it. The scene makes frequent use of close ups on the two characters arguing so as to show the emotion on their faces and their reactions to what the other person has said. In this scene it changes shot between the people arguing and the people on the sidelines of the argument in order this may have been done in order to make the audience feel more personally involved with the narrative as other characters are present but not directly involved in the scene.
